Lovers of fine jewelry should try to catch the exhibit of Verdura jewels dating from the 1930s with original design sketches- The Life and Work of a Master Jewelry- at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Duke Fulco di Verura (1898-1978″ a Sicilian duke, began his career as a textile designer at Coco Chanel and went on to become the head designer for her private and boutique collection. His designs were worn by iconic women of taste including Joan Crawford, Princess Diana, Doris Duke, Katherine Hepburn, Nan Kempner, and Greta Garbo.

Northern California Mini: a fun-filled, educational weekend in Petalma California (about 30 miles north of Golden Gate Bridge). Accommodations will be at the lovely Petaluma Sheraton Hotel located on the Marina and adjacent to a wetlands park. A full day of lectures will be scheduled for Saturday. Sunday morning attendees will be able to shop the semi-annual outdoor Petaluma Antiques Fair. Friday and Saturday evenings we will be dining at two of Petaluma’s finer restaurants.
